# Trump says China will ‘eat’ Canada within year
“Canada is against The Golden Dome being built over Greenland, even though The Golden Dome would protect Canada. Instead, they voted in favor of doing business with China, who will ‘eat them up’ within the first year!” the U.S. president wrote on Truth Social.
Carney travelled to Beijing last week to reignite economic ties with China – Canada’s second largest trading partner after the U.S. He left with a deal reducing tariffs on some Canadian agricultural goods and a quota allowing Chinese EVs to enter the domestic market.

The Golden Dome is Trump’s name for his planned air defence system modelled after Israel’s “Iron Dome.” In the past, Trump has said ownership of Greenland is a critical part of realizing that project.

And this whole golden dome concept has been in the works for years… just Trump is allowed to make it sound like it’s his idea.
By Golden Dome, he means annexing countries for resources their failing AI companies need.

This whole “golden dome” thing is a vanity project that is likely never going to happen. Anything this person takes a direct interest in like this is bound to be expensive, low quality, and subject to change at a moments notice based on anything.
Given Trump’s penchant for things golden and how the dome will sprinkle missiles to shoot down threats, I recommend he renames it to the Golden Shower. I hear Trump has a history with that as well.

A good reminder: Canada has already recently invested in the modernization of NOARD and our Northern early warning and defense systems…which is of course working in conjunction with the US.

I’m sorry Carney has to go through this BS. It is a sad stare of affairs. No matter how Canada asserts independence and our own interests, the Trump Administration will react negatively with distortion and lies. This new American reality sucks

When it comes to arctic security, Canada does maintain the northern most base, in CFB Alert. It is not only used for artic training but also a well staffed base. It has served as a critical intelligence hub for arctic security for like 70 years.
In that time through agreement with Denmark, and well Canada, there has been ample opportunity to develop a missile defense system.
Canada has mastered the art of military enforcement in high arctic regions, so if they don’t want us on board – so be it.
Also the US has had carte blanch to to set up as many bases in defense systems in Greenland since like 1951.
Good, I don’t want one cent going to anything he is proposing.
To be honest the Golden Dome is about as feasible as Reagan’s Star Wars. Not going to happen in our lifetimes
Haven’t experts stated the Golden Dome isn’t feasible with current or even near future technology? The whole thing is just a way to forward tax dollars to defense contractors.
