All I know is that my best friend in 8th grade was such a witty, fun, intelligent, full of positive energy, lovable person when he was off Ritalin. When it was the test days, his parents forced him to take Ritalin, which creeped me out because he became a monotone zombie without any life and the joy was removed from his eyes and voice. I just remember that it made me sad how much it changed him.

Yes I feel like this is me. Psychedelics/microdosing them undid/repaired all the damage done (at least I feel like) over time.

It gets better. I was diagnosed with ADD and given Ritalin and a now banned drug called Cylert. Turns out I had a brain tumor encapsulating my pituitary gland. The tumor started growing very rapidly once those meds started. To the point that at almost 13 I weighed 58lbs and headaches to the point that I couldn’t stand up. What were these mysterious headaches from? Oh just that pesky ADD of course! The early 90s were a wild time for these ADD diagnosis. Back when it was originally called CHADD and I’ll let you take a guess what the name is… I think I still have the newspaper article referring to it as that.

As an adult recreational user, I can definitely see how you’d end up there. Especially while your brain is still developing.
