Was in London a few years back. Half drunk at night, walking back to my hotel. And I walked by the house he lived in when he was there. It was surreal, I knew he had lived in London but to just walk past it in a back ally was cool.
He didn’t have a whole lot of problems tumbling around with those „swarthy“ French women.

To be clear: this was sarcasm by Franklin and used as a way to point out the ridiculousness of notions of racial superiority and slavery.

Just a reminder that Hitler was not a white supremacist. He was an Aryan supremacist. Half the point was to be superior to other white „races“ (plural).
He considered Slavs (e.g. Russians, who are as white as it gets) barely above animals, considered the Japanese superior to some white races, and famously hated Eastern European Jews who are, last I checked, pretty damn white.
The idea that „white“ is a race would have been hilariously idiotic to basically all Europeans for basically all of history, but became super important when „white“ became a category of human you weren’t allowed to own.
I always chuckle when white supremacists do all this bizarre Hitler stuff. Half of you are „white“ races he considered inferior, you absolute pool noodles.
