Parton was serenaded by the Nashville-based Irish musician Patrick D’Arcy, who was sent by Bono along with the other members of the band.
D’Arcy performed the tune of ‘Happy Birthday’ on the bagpipes as the country icon was presented with a cake, which had „Love … Bono“ in iced lettering as well as some candles.
„Well, thank you,“ said Parton. „I saw that cake said, ‘From Bono’, so he must have sent you as a present to me? Well, thank you guys. I appreciate all of you.“
The American singer even joked, asking if the present was a way of calling her an „old bag“.
