On the other side of the pond It seems like every rural village in the English countryside has a Michelin starred gastro pub.

Well, calendar & budget as well. Some have 6 month waiting unless you know people. My cousin’s husband managed to swing a table at The French Laundry while studying their kitchen as reference for what became **Ratatouille**. Pixar set-up cameras overhead to get the flow of the kitchen.

The whole purpose is to encourage travel to visit restaurants in other places.

    5. This is basically a map of which cities pay the Michelin bribe to rate their city. They don’t just rate every restaurant, only cities which pay the tax

What’s the Michelin restaurant in rural Colorado? Denver/Boulder makes sense but someone gave one of our ski town restaurants a star?

This isn’t reflective of restaurant quality by region. It’s reflective of regions Michelin actually coverers.

North Carolina gave $1 million to Michelin so it feels like they had to give at least one restaurant in NC a star. Literally the only restaurant that was designed for Michelin-bait got it.

Michelin Star = pay to play. They are not as meaningful as their marketing team makes them out to be — it’s like a popularity tax.

South Carolina has more places to get a Michelin starred meal than the entire Midwest?

Luckily I live on the west coast so it might be doable if I can afford it. There are 2 stars, 2 bibs and like 16 recommendations just in my area

Honest question – do these places serve normal sized portions or those tiny portions that make people angry?
