The CPC doesn’t have any platform ideas as Carney took them all. They don’t have a leader that will win an election. All they have left is to sow fear and division. Just makes me happy.
Liberals wants to be easy on crime.
I’m not sure if liberals will change their stance to be tough on crime.
Criminals are very happy right now.. I’ve been leaving my car keys at my door as instructed.
I’ve also comply to all demands from criminals when they illegally broke into my house.

It’s a weak pivot. The LPC is still going to vote against Bill C-220, which aims to prevent immigration status being used as a factor in sentencing for non-citizen criminals. It’s what’s saved a lot of terrible people from being deported, so I don’t know why the liberals would want to vote against it if they want to be „tougher“ on crime.
Liberals are busy persecuting PAL/RPAL holders.
Biggest issue right now is the courts are too gridlocked. Takes too long to have a court hearing and sentencing.
I don’t think there’s much point in hiring more police officers, which seems to commonly be the case for TouGh On CriME StAnCes. No point in having more officers to catch-and-release the same offenders over and over again, they need to be able to transition them to the next step of the criminal justice system -> courts -> potentially jail.
Once we stop having to arrest the same people over and over, or send firefighters/paramedics/ to the guy with ten needles in his arm every week, that would alleviate a lot of strain on all these resources.
To me, courts + ER wait times should be a national priority. For some reason, we’ll hire more cops and border officers though.

Regardless of Party all citizens should be pushing hard for long sentences , and non citizens to get sent to their home country immediately after serving a FULL sentence.
Everybody agrees. We’re tired of living with a toothless justice system, our public spaces are overrun with drunk and drug addicted homeless people, our retail stores are overwhelmed with theft, random robberies and assaults are not uncommon. It’s just too much.

Yeah because they can’t admit that they were wrong to follow American style politicking and that was their entire platform. So now they’re going to pivot to agreeing with the liberals but insisting they’re not going far enough.
Conservatives really want you to think the main threat to your wellbeing is people poorer than you rather than people far richer than you.

Carney has totally neutered the CPC on key issues leaving leadership as the differentiator. That leaves Poilievre out.
I’d expect a Fall election if there are not enough floor crossers after the CPC leadership review and bielections.

The only thing the liberals can think of is to ban more guns….. from law abiding owners. Which does sweet fuck all for actual crime, and in no way shape or form „takes guns off the streets“. The govt is painfully incompetent in every way shape and form.
How about tackling the root cause of the problem (poverty and desperation) instead of the symptom (crime)?
Tough on crime ICE style….collateral damage is acceptable if the are lefties.
