Some of you think this is a dunk on the US but if we grew by 17.3% during a bad year, that’s really impressive. Edit: clearly i meant the us stock market on a post about the stock market.

    2. „By country in USD“. Isn’t a lot of this weakening dollar, rather than actual stock market performance?

Good time to be holding VXUS, up around 30% last year for me which matches the chart.

I would take this infographic with a pinch of salt.

What about longer term performance that actually matters to most of us?

The fact is the US stock market has still outperformed the others over 5 years, 10 years etc.

I feel like this really should be put in perspective of at least the last few years.

    7. I dont think this is the good news you think it is. If you look at the one year tile map of these top performing markets. EU and Canada are largely being carried by banks making record profits from high interest rate environment. US has a much more robust and diverse economy.

If you scale GS, citi, jpm, ms, schwab to the ratio these banking/investment insitutions occupy in, say, Canada, the growth would have been easily 30%.

India is shitting the bed so hard lmao

      How to lie with statistics.

One should compare the performance of stock markets in their respective home currency to avoid FX effects.

A third or more of the performances of these markets are due to weakening USD in the last year.

    9. Nah

No one invest for just one year . If you look at those markets over 5 to 10 years or more , they suck

Over time , no foreign stock market beats the US market

Now do 2024 to 2025, and then 2023 to 2025. One random year means nothing
