      If I where Machado and giving Trump that medal would buy his support for her ascension to the Venezuelan presidency I would do the same. The medal is not the prize and Trump is too much of a delusional narcissist to admit the difference. And maybe Venezuela will have a chance of real freedom.

      If you wrote this in a fiction story, it wouldn’t look believable and no matter of protagonist framing could make him look like a “good guy.”

      But here we are in 2026. Elected President and enjoys the adoration of millions.

      I know they won’t take the award away from her because “it’s the rules”, but I think it’s time they make an exception. Rules are meant to be broken and she’s proven to be more than undeserving.

      This kinda makes me mad. Yes it was a gift he didn’t win the award. I’m not a trump supporter by any means. Fuck that man with all my heart. But the people in Venezuela are grateful for the operation and being freed from an oppressive governemt. Yet we telling them they can’t show their appreciation however the fuck they want??

      Let this piece of news die in favor of more pressing issues, please. Does anybody *really* think him getting a hold of the physical medal has *any* meaning? (Besides flattery from Machado)

      This is no different than him hypothetically getting Usain Bolts Olympic gold medal. You get a medal as a symbol to recognize some achievement – of course the prize/recognition is tied to the person and not the medal. It is a non-story.

      Revoke the award then! Make it meaningless for Trump to have. She clearly didn’t want or or care about winning it, anyway, or she wouldn’t have given it away a few weeks later. Gain the honor of the award back by revoking the honor from her.
