      >Renee Good was found with gunshot wounds to the chest, arm and head after a federal immigration officer shot her the morning of Jan. 7, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department’s incident report.

      >Paramedics found Good unresponsive in her car with blood on her face and torso at 9:42 a.m. She was not breathing, and her pulse was “inconsistent” and “irregular,” according to the report obtained through a state Data Practices Act request.

      >There were two gunshot wounds on Good’s right chest, one on her left forearm and one “with protruding tissue on the left side of the patient’s head” the report said. Blood was flowing out of her left ear.

      >Good was brought to a snowbank and then the sidewalk to get “separation from an escalating scene involving law enforcement and bystanders,” the report went on.

      >At that point, the 37-year-old was “still not breathing and pulseless.”

      >Lifesaving efforts continued at the scene, in an ambulance and at HCMC. CPR was discontinued at the hospital at 10:30 a.m.

      >A 911 caller told dispatchers “they shot her [because] she wouldn’t open her car door,” according to transcripts. “Send an ambulance please, ambulance please.”

    2. Can’t be too careful when an unarmed US citizen is slowly rolling in their vehicle at 1mph next to you. Definitely justifies mag dumping just to be safe. /s

This was cold blooded murder and everyone regardless of political affiliations should be outraged. He was in no danger whatsoever. He was just a blood thirsty killer with an itchy trigger finger looking for any excuse to execute someone on the spot.

Anybody who says it’s justified is lying through their teeth. They know damn well it wasn’t, they just support murdering Americans in broad daylight as long as they perceive them being on the “other team” in one way or another.

How tf was she going to hit him if when he shot, he shot her at the side of her body? This would’ve placed him at the side of the vehicle, and even if he felt threatened moments before, at the moment he pulled out his gun he would’ve no longer been threatened. And in the videos it’s almost like he voluntarily leans over towards the vehicle?? Was he trying to open the door, because that’s what the 911 caller said. I’m so confused

The fact she’ll never get the justice she deserves. But we all know what we saw. How fuckin awful

That’s what never sat right with me the most about the bullshit story from the admin. Had there been the one shot into the windshield and that was it, it would still be excessive, but perhaps arguable that it was done in defense. But three additional shots through the window? Saying “fucking bitch” post shooting? Denying aid? Nah, it’s too many things.

She was still alive??? They kept anyone from reaching her including a doctor nearby wanting to check her pulse! Even the ambulance was blocked so paramedics had to walk to her. Ross walked up to her, saw her shot and bleeding, did nothing then casually walked away, got in a car then drive away to be protected by the regime.

Reacting to a US citizen being murdered by ICE by saying “we will have a day of retribution” and threatening the Insurrection act is pretty much a blanket admission that his goal is civil war.

    8. Choice-of-SteinsGate on

This outcome was sadly inevitable. The Trump administration’s authoritarian deployment of trigger happy, unaccountable ICE thugs around the country never intended to „reduce crime“ or drive back some imaginary „invasion“ or „rebellion.“ No, the intention was always to legitimize the aggressive occupation of areas around the country where Trump’s political opposition remains defiant of him and his policies.

The goal has always been to mobilize these federalized troops and masked ICE agents to places where they can unobstructedly crackdown on protestors, crush dissenting voices, profile their targets, assault passersby, throw people into unmarked vehicles, suppress civil liberties and arrest or detain anyone who meets the government’s vague criteria of a „domestic terrorist.“

Donald Trump, his allies and followers are trying desperately to turn the criminals into the victims of these violent tragedies so that they can continue justifying the federal government’s terrorizing presence around the country.

It also speaks volumes that all of the MAGA mouthpieces are out in full force trying to defend murder; regurgitating the talking points that have been delivered by the White House; peddling the regime’s propaganda in order to control the narrative.

That narrative’s purpose is not only to make victims out of murderers, but to also insist that people like Renee Good deserved it because she is part of a larger, hostile, yet fictional left-wing threat to this country—excuse me—THEIR country.

None of these armed assailers were in imminent danger. The victim was an American citizen and was not even a target of their operation, nor a threat to their lives. Good’s life was the only one at urgent risk and the man who killed her made a deliberate choice to do so when other, non-lethal choices were available.

The goal from the moment that this tragedy became national news was to politicize it, facts be damned. This is made apparent by the *fact(s)* that local investigations are being obstructed while even the president, the vice president and the director of DHS themselves spoke out almost immediately after the incident; making statements that sought to blame the victim and exonerate the shooter.

MAGA would be screaming bloody murder if they identified with the victim and *not* the shooter in this situation.

This is because their loyalty and the loyalty of these lawless, wannabe counter-revolutionaries is not to this country, nor the safety of its people, not to the law, nor the constitution, but to Donald Trump and to a destructive, hateful and violent ideology. The only authority they have to answer to is one that will absolve them of all wrongdoing—even in the case of murder.

Meanwhile, Trump has already threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act as part of an effort to subvert the authority of states and invalidate the Posse Comitatus Act, giving him the unilateral power to order the military and his personal army of ICE goons to enforce his will and carry out the law however the administration sees fit.

And like every other step Trump has taken towards consolidating power and control over the country, these actions do absolutely nothing to confront the underlying, root causes of crime, „domestic terrorism,“ political violence and other systemic issues.

These measures are also meant to produce the ILLUSION of safety. They fail at being an effective and reliable deterrent to anything.

And as elections roll around, there’s the very strong likelihood that Trump will use this militant presence to suppress the vote in urban areas.

„Law and order“ has been a conservative dog whistle for decades, and we know that Trump and MAGA don’t care all that sincerely about the law because they believe they are above it. That is to say, „For my friends everything, for my enemies the law.“

Trump has even stated as much; claiming that he is not beholden to any standards but his own and posting comments like, „He who saves his country does not violate any law,“ a quote often attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte insinuating that Trump is entitled to operate outside all laws and regulations, whenever and however he pleases. This is dictator logic.

MAGA’s law and order rhetoric intends to divide and aims to incite violence and hostility towards minorities, immigrants, marginalized segments of society and anyone who is subjectively deemed a „left wing agitator.“

In other words, to them, „law and order“ means punishing your enemies.

MAGA’s obsession with crime and punishment is reflected in their support for federalizing troops and local law enforcement to subdue their political opponents and terrorize the population. It’s reflected in this administration’s militarization of domestic policy, in Trump’s weaponization of ICE and the DOJ, in the Republican party’s disregard for the basic constitutional rights of the people they’re targeting and arresting, in Trump’s attacks on law firms and judges, in his defiance of court orders and flouting of checks and balances, and in his pursuit of vengeance against his critics, his political enemies and anyone who has ever tried to hold him accountable for HIS crimes.

The hypocrisy is baffling. While Trump and his supporters are demanding that he receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his feckless efforts at ending multiple wars (which he hasn’t) and „negotiating“ an imaginary peace around the world, he is simultaneously waging war against the American people, people he is tasked with protecting.

These tactics are taken directly from the fascist playbook. Including the use of inflammatory rhetoric from Trump, his allies and his flock who are all trying to justify this regime’s consolidation of power and its occupation of cities around the country by broadly designating Trump’s opponents, protestors, critics and all left-leaning political foes as „terrorists.“

They’re also making use of another fascist strategy which involves scapegoating minorities, immigrants and out-groups; identifying them as „enemies“ and „threats“ to national security. This becomes their unifying cause as the party spreads fearmongering propaganda that appeals to the far rights‘ culture war grievances, their paranoia and their phobias.

It’s also evident that the Trump administration is hoping to provoke an incident. Republicans are desperate for an escalation—for a violent response so that Trump can continue to push the limits of his power and so him and his supporters can rationalize to themselves why more military incursions around the country are necessary.

But none of it is sincere. All of their rhetoric and their reactions to violent tragedies and political commotions of the past were really just rallying cries.

They couldn’t care less about the root causes of crime, political violence or domestic extremism. Their chief priority throughout all of this has been to construct a pretext to declare war against „the radical left.“

And now that the Trump administration gets to dictate whom or what conforms to the vague definition of a „domestic terrorist,“ they will continue to use this blanket label to suppress civil liberties, to scapegoat their enemies, to crackdown on dissent and to arrest (or kill) anyone who remains defiant of them and Trump’s policies.

Everyone takes their foot off the breaks when shot in the face. You might even spasm and hit the gas, or, God forbid. Panic and hit it on accident.

    10. smoothmedia on

This does not imply 4 bullets. It’s likely the wound to the arm and chest was the first shot, through the windshield, through he arm on the steering wheel and then into her chest.

I wonder if that first shot was survivable, because the subsequent head shot was certainly not and that shot had no justification whatsoever

    11. Where was that good guy with a gun? Isn’t this what they foam about when rocking themselves to sleep at night? A scenario where the gov does rogue and they become the hero?

Dear headline writer, Murdered the word you are looking for is murdered.

    13. My theory was she was looking at the direction she wanted to go to her right and didnt see the agent in front of her. ‘Shot on left side of face’ seems to confirm this. She didn’t react to the agent at all.

    14. Hi_Im_Ken_Adams on

That asshole shot her in the head point blank and then fired several more times after the vehicle was driving away.

This was a straight up execution.

    15. PausedForVolatility on

If the fascists thought it was a good shoot, they would stand on the facts of the incident. As soon as they realized he shot her through the side window, which even their initial claim of her being a threat can’t justify *even if it were true*, they pivoted to trying to claim “absolute immunity” while openly lying about events (“he’s in the hospital!”).

Except where otherwise required by inspections or other operations, Authorized Officers/Agents should avoid standing directly in front of or behind a subject vehicle. Officers/agents should not place themselves in the path of a moving vehicle or use their body to block a vehicle’s path.

Authorized Officers/Agents should avoid intentionally and unreasonably placing themselves in positions in which they have no alternative to using deadly force.

Deadly force shall not be used solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing subject.

Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles

Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles. Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, AND NO OTHER OBJECTIVELY REASONABLE MEANS OF DEFENSE APPEAR TO EXIST, WHICH INCLUDES MOVING OUT OF THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE.

DHS LEOs are prohibited from discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle, vessel, aircraft, or other conveyance unless the use of deadly force against the operator is justified under the standards articulated elsewhere in this policy. Before using deadly force under these circumstances, the LEO must take into consideration the hazards that may be posed to law enforcement and innocent bystanders by an out-of-control conveyance.

DHS LEOs should seek to employ tactics and techniques that effectively bring an incident under control while promoting the safety of LEOs and the public, and that minimize the risk of unintended injury or serious property damage. DHS LEOS SHOULD ALSO AVOID INTENTIONALLY AND UNREASONABLY PLACING THEMSELVES IN POSITIONS IN WHICH THEY HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE TO USING DEADLY FORCE.

    17. If this happened to me I hope my family would release every grisly photo. I hope that my body would be put on display in a minimally preserved open casket. This isn’t something anyone should turn away from.
