Tl;dr Iraq is not Afghanista… Iraq is not a poor country and has never been a poor country. Economy was never a problem.

Iraq’s problems have been (and in many ways still are): US imperialism and ethnical and religious diversity which unavoidably creates political instability.

It’s actually pretty cool to see Iraq being a developing nation from rough times. 😁

Strange how the Sunni areas are the richest, would have assumed they’d be poorest since they were the Islamic State hotspots

What made Iraqi Kurdistan (just a bit) more developed than the rest of Iraq? I thought most investments would be in the Mesopotamian lowlands.

  5. I was confused at first, should be the 2021 on the left and 2024 on the right

I like seeing the results of developing nations developing

And this is in relatively short time, what did they do?

Also why’d kurdistan more developed? What did they do that iraq hasn’t?

This map genuinely makes me so happy. If any Iraqis are seeing this comment, you all fucking deserve it if it actually means most of you are seeing these results 💜
