Timothy Busfield stellt sich wegen Kindesmissbrauchs und sagt, er habe „nichts falsch gemacht“

TL;DR This smells a bit fishy, but since theres children involved, we feel the need to drop the hammer: That is not due process.

While ill never be convinced 100% he’s innocent, based upon accusations towards people in the entertainment industry in the past, i’m thinking theres a good chance this is parents of the actors looking for a payday:

Twins played the son character in FOX’s ‘The Cleaning Lady’ for 3 of its 4 seasons, being replaced by another actor in the 4th and final season. Busfield directed several eps in S2 and S3, and then directed the season premiere of S4, where the boys were ultimately recast.

Considering the dates mentioned, the recasting, WB conducting its own investigation, the main actress of the show alleging overhearing the mother of the boys talking about revenge for the recasting…….this is not some slam-dunk case here.

Remember one of the Michael Jackson accusers whose father wanted Michael to buy one of his scripts? Then the molestation charges were made after no sale on the script? I think the guy eventually scored a few million from Mr. Jackson, but still sounds really fishy.

Going all the way back to the McMartin preschool mess, it’s shown kids can be coached. If a parent was pissed about a recasting (maybe the kid character was being aged forward and needed an older kid?), maybe a little revenge is in order? Let’s not lynch Mr. Busfield just yet.

The parents of kid actors can be real assholes. I remember working on a 1940s period piece and a five year old boy had been cast as the son of one of the main characters. The morning we’re getting ready to shoot, an AD comes on set to say the mother of the kid actor won’t let the Hair Dept. cut his hair into a 1940s appropriate style unless she gets more money. Director finds out, asks them to be brought to set. Director fires kid on the spot, tells Casting to get another kid and we shot another scene and two hours later we had a five year old kid in costume with the appropriate haircut, lol!

None of us has details about this beyond what we’ve read but I’ll be the first to admit my immediate reaction was disgust and outrage and prejudging him as guilty. I’ve reacted that way to all of them. But it kind of just hit me that my immediate reaction with cases like this is to just say “welp, into the volcano with them”. But it’s important to remind ourselves in these times that we are all entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

How many innocent people flee 2,000 miles in a car and avoid all contact from authorities?
