On 8 July 2014, Klose scored a record 16th World Cup goal in the 23rd minute [against hosts Brazil in the semi-finals](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazil_v_Germany_(2014_FIFA_World_Cup)), his second goal of the 2014 World Cup. That goal gave Germany a 2–0 lead *en route* to a historic **7–1 win over Brazil**, and Klose surpassed the Brazilian Ronaldo’s previous record of 15 World Cup goals.

      É um 7 à 1 todo dia, pqp

You just know Mbappe gonna at least double Klose’s record by at least twice by the end of his career

    3. (For anyone who’s curious, the top scorer for the Women’s WC is Marta with 17 goals in 23 matches. Michelle Akers has 12 goals in 13 matches but none of the top scorers have an average of over a goal a match like Müller and some of the other early male players.)

    4. This visualisation would be more interesting with the date range or World Cup years that the goals were scored in

I know Neuer can’t be in this statistic but I feel like she should get an honourable mention.
