Impeachment is a dead process. If a president like this isn’t impeached already, there is no point in that process and we need a new way to remove tyrants. Clearly, the framers failed here. We need a new form of government where the judges, prosecutors, etc., are legally obligated to perform duties and failure to perform those duties as stipulated in law is treated as effective resignation, passing legal authority to the next in line.

„Discretion“ needs to be written out of our legal system entirely, both for cops and prosecutors and judges. We also need to invert the way impeachment works, such that it’s a self-triggering process. A person who commits impeachable offenses should be treated as self-resigning, and should be forced to defend their continued authority in court rather than having to be forced out the door.
