    Sie wollen, dass die Fed die Zinsen niedrig hält, um den Eindruck zu erwecken, dass es der Wirtschaft gut geht, um sich mittelfristig einen Vorteil zu verschaffen.

    Nixon tat das Gleiche für seine Wiederwahl und sorgte dafür, dass sich die Wirtschaft „gut anfühlte“, indem er die Fed grundsätzlich unter Druck setzte, die Zinsen niedrig zu halten.

    Er gewann einen Erdrutschsieg über 49 Bundesstaaten

    Doch die Folge war ein Jahrzehnt hoher Inflation, und um diese zu beheben, musste die Fed Anfang der 80er Jahre die Zinsen auf 20 % erhöhen.

    Bereiten Sie sich also auf eine selbstverschuldete Rezession vor und verabschieden Sie sich vom Dollar als Weltreservewährung.

      Powell can probably rest easy that this DOJ is too stupid to get anything to trial.

      Republicans would have impeached Obama or Biden for this. I am sure they’ll cheer for it now though.

      I remember watching that tour Trump did back in July and how he tried to belittle this guy in front of the media only to be humiliated by Powell when he didn’t cower.

      Trump is legit pulling a long knives without the knives.

      Never thought I would have a possible front row seat to the switch between republic and empire. Regardless of affiliation, ideology or party there should be the rule of law and checks and balances. Those prerequisites for a functioning system cannot be easily put back in place on e they begin to be dismantled.
