We don’t need 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs, follow the Europe model and levy tariffs based on amount of subsidies instead of blindly following the US
This way we can lower tariffs to ~30% and the Chinese can lower tariffs by the same amount for our canola and peas. We can still protect our own auto industry while allowing for farmers to have some wiggle room
It’s really quite simple. So-so auto industry based out of Liberal territory > critical farming sector in the west.

The Liberal Government: „Have you tried not being from the Prairies?“
