If anybody can complete this fight it’s Samwise Gamgee
If they want to use AI to use your likeness, even as an extra, it should require your consent for each use and royalties paid.
Then, if a film does use AI to replace people, it should be ineligible for tax incentives and award submissions. Real art doesn’t cut corners.
Watch how fast they’d abandon AI in entertainment then.
I don’t really care if a bunch of millionaire actors get replaced by AI, but any studio replacing them should lose all tax benefits and incentives. They should lose any local incentives they get for filming on location as well.
If they want to get rid of human actors, fine, do it all entirely on their own dime. Studios who choose to use human actors can and should still get the benefits offered to them, possibly more than before to drive home the incentive.
I don’t think AI slop is in danger of doing anything but making social media unusable, but Sean Astin seems like a decent, empathetic and thoughtful person. I hope he keeps fighting the good fight.
It’s this simple: boycott any TV or film that uses AI actors.
Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!
Ah yes, like the film industry is “art”…Most films nowadays are marvel garbage and actors playing dress up. I refuse to endorse this shit and paying for the lifestyle of these idiots. So I say fuck them! Good for studios to cut corners.
I will continue to support theatre and independent filmmaking.
AI will only ruin humanity online and that’s fine. It will push us all back to living in the real world.
Onslaught of AI actors? I’m sorry but has there been a deluge of AI „actors“ in film or TV or something? Or is this something the industry is feeling/seeing/dealing with on their end behind the scenes? Is there, like, a silent push or wave of AI „actors“ that we, the general public, aren’t privy to?
Frodo wouldn’t have got far without Sam.
