    1. Low Earth Orbit looking like SpaceX’s parking lot rn. Elon really said yeah, put Wi-Fi everywhere.

    2. Kids will look up at the sky someday and know its time for bed with the star links appear.

Fully expect some sort of super negative outcome from this in 500 days or less.

Musk being a quintessential plague on technical progress is only part of it. The rest is just ourselves damaging ourselves.

    4. This is insane. We’re allowing a fascist (soon-to-be) trillionaire inundate our planet with orbital debris and atmospheric pollution… and to what end? So he can shut off Starlink services to our allies, undermine our foreign policy and foment political extremism at home?

The Starlink network already comprises about ~9,000 satellites, with plans to expand to a total of 45,000.

If or when [cascading satellite collisions](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kessler_syndrome) render space travel and exploration nearly impossible, who will be held accountable for trapping the entire human species on Earth? It won’t be Musk.

We cannot allow private industry to fuck up the entire LEO environment for their profit margins. The stakes are too high.

    5. … and this is just the beginning! Amazon will follow as will other! Capitalism and greed will kill our planet for short term gains… Our children will pay the price

Oh, the reason Musk did a 180* on the pedophile accusations, he’s risking lucrative contracts.

Space pollution is about to be a thing. And the American Wall Street is going to reward the company for it when SpaceX goes public.

    8. So much space debris because earth is running out of places to pollute. I think we’ll be fine as long as humans don’t start sending satellites to orbit other planets, otherwise the intergalactic space council will have to send Klaatu, and you DO NOT want that.

Starlink is amazing tech but I really hate how much money gets poured into this solution, which puts so much crap in space, when funding should be done to improve fiber infrastructure.
