In my experience Feminism in name is weak, but Georgian women don’t take shit from anybody.

But if you’re asking in a broader sense, Georgian women have always held a fairly dominant position within families. I don’t think women were ever considered ‘second-class’ or submissive to men. I’d even argue that Georgian families are often quite matriarchal, even comparing to western traditional families.
Of course, as everywhere, crime and violence have existed, and the physically weaker person is more often the victim – but I’m talking about normal families and everyday situations
Not as strong as it should be. Georgia definitely needs stronger feminist movement.
However I’ve witnessed improvement with my own eyes. It’s not as bad for women nowadays as it used to be when I was younger

If feminism was strong enough in Georgia we wouldn’t have a new murdered wife in the news every two weeks. Literally every two weeks I’m not exaggerating
depends on what you call feminism. In general the country like georgia is not cut out to be liberal. like all three of these images cringe me the fuck out… why do all these people look the same everywhere??

Georgian girls don’t need modern day feminism because they do not act as victims and are just as if not more ambitious than men.
Generally “feminism” has a bad reputation as a word/concept, associated with people like in these images, a small minority of women who are brave enough to speak out, but also hold views that to most Georgians feel very radical and uncomfortable. Often the concept gets associated with ideas of misandry, aggression, and silly but salient stuff like not shaving armpits. Statistically, women are more likely to work in a family, and carry both the burden of making money and managing the household. There is also a high level of unpaid labor among late middle-aged women who often manage elder care for their husband’s parents (usually just mom let’s be honest) and also their grandchildren. Leadership among private sector companies seems to be largely male, though there is no research/data on this topic. What aspects are you specifically interested in?
Unfortunately the term is still frowned upon or not taken seriously, especially in the older gens.
Third wave feminism is cancer. I believe that Georgian women need more rights and better protection from domestic violence, but if we look at how the movement went off the rails in the US then that’s not desireable either
