The worst drivers are the professional drivers, always.

It’s not just the RoC taxis. The TRNC taxis like to stand in particularly stupid places and block things as well.
One of them was very surprised when my RoC license plate made them think I don’t speak Turkish and she (woman driver) cursed me out and I cursed back in Turkish for blocking two lanes while she unloaded 8 people despite there being space to move over and actually being space to even park 15 meters further down.
Seems all you need to be is a massive arsehole and they throw you a taxi license regardless of who you are or where you’re from.

Taxis in Cyprus are generally one thing that’s absolutely ridiculous, both in terms of price and how taxi drivers drive. Last time I took a taxi, I threw up right after I got out. The driver would slam on the brakes at every red light, then floor the accelerator immediately after, and he did that at every single traffic light.
When I moved to Cyprus, I found some guys to help me with bags and suitcases. They charged me around 45 EUR to move 120 kg of my belongings. They even met me at the airport, loaded everything into their van, drove from Larnaca Airport to Limassol, and carried everything into the apartment.
A regular taxi alone would have cost me around 70 EUR. So, fuck taxis, fuck their old 500k-km Mercedeses, fuck their prices, fuck the taxi mafia, fuck their shitty unions, and I hope they’ll be out of business soon. You can’t fight progress.
