Do we have such a thing as consequences in Canada anymore?
We are not a real country anymore.

Wonder why is Canada Post going under with all these great decisions being made.

Felony mail theft?

Strength in numbers join a union lol!

This helps explain why Canada is struggling.

You’d think the union already bargaining from a position weakness would be a little more conscious of optics like this

„Until he can provide evidence of his fitness to return to work, with or without accommodation, (he) is to be considered to be on authorized leave without pay, with access to such benefits as the collective agreement provides“
So he’s been put on leave without pay due to his medical condition (PTSD) until he can provide evidence that is able to come back to work, instead of being outright fired.
Not exactly what the title is indicating lol but typical of course.

So if this very logic applies to this person. Maybe I can get my job back that I was fired at for raising concerns to HR, *right?*

That’s a lot of flyers to keep

You should read how delusional the CP workers are in their sub, it’s soooo hard to walk and deliver letters that are sorted for you.

It’s almost like „jobs for life“ as a policy isn’t working out for Canada Post or Taxpayers.

The full article is paywalled but ptsd is in title. This is obviously someone with serious psychological problems who needs help.

Another inclusivity win.

Then the pro Union types get upset when we say that they protect the least desirable, productive and capable employees.
I would make this guy’s new job just to sit in a corner, where everyone could see him and do nothing everyday. Most people would go mad, he would be happy.

So?
People can become unwell. I have a coworker on medical leave, with pay, because they hurt their knee. Another is going on stress leave, with pay.
Leave them alone. It’s hard enough existing already.

Mental health issues are so weird and I hope I never go through something that changes my behavior like that. Hopefully his treatments work and he us a healthy member of society

Unions eh? Almost like catch and release polices.

Sounds like another reason to stay away from Canada post for anything important.
They won’t even fire employees for holding peoples important mail.
I used to feel really bad for Canada post, but them, and mostly the union have dug their own grave.
Imagine a union that’s supposed to protect people’s jobs, actively ruining the company that employees these people. Crazy

“Canada post worker that committed mail theft placed on leave with access to benefits” fixed the title. Fire this fucking guy, seriously. He had 6000 pieces of mail in his *personal vehicle*.
Mental health is a motherfucker but it isn’t an excuse for this type of behaviour. When people start spewing anti-union rhetoric, it’s directly because of situations like this.
How many of y’all would be able to keep your jobs after committing theft?
Nemesis_Destiny on
Politicians beholden to billionaires and corporate interests keep stealing our stuff and getting to keep their jobs as well, so, eh, why not.
