I’m sure I’d find the article interesting if I had access to the Globe and Mail. I think a certain amount of impatience and urgency is exactly what Canadians are expecting from our government, so this is probably good news.
The fact that the public service is not set up to move very quickly is a known problem, and something which does require significant reform. Government policy shouldn’t take years to get in place because the wheels move slow – especially not in a crisis.
Now where there’s a will there’s a way. In 2020, they managed to change a lot of things very quickly during COVID. It’s all about buy-in and getting people on board.
