Ah yes the common moron who thinks „free speech“ guarantees you a platform.

Well, that escalated quickly. Glad we have such measured and level-headed MPs.
Their speech is heard everywhere on all platforms. It’s the political equivalent of 120dB hard tech blasted non-stop. Please.
This is the MP that threw homophobic implications at Justin Trudeau on the floor of the House of Commons.
So in other words after reading the article, this guy or someone on his behalf submitted a poorly written application and also he wanted to do an open forum, but the way the Student Centre rules work, it had to be a closed one.
So therefore they declined to host the event- it was not approved and then cancelled
He was then told he is welcome to reapply and he chose to go crying to the media instead of reapplyong like a normal person? Seriously?
Just as he has freedom of speech, venues have the right to not subject anyone to it

So there’s no proof it was canceled because of his politics. The issue seems to be he wanted to set up out in the open like Charlie Kirk or Steven crowder did, but they wanted him to set up in a room. But he wanted to play the victim to get attention.
Some of you clearly didn’t read the article. The request was dismissed, as stated, due to booking policies.

I’m not a Conservative voter, but if Genius was looking to speak to students for the reason he stated in the article, he absolutely should be able to. But he also needs to follow York’s policies. This goes for anyone of any affiliation.
I’m always surprised when a person in a high official position being a member of parliament and not knowing Canadas charter of freedoms. So many of those these days.
What an incompetent, whining, moron. The ‘Genius’ can’t competently fill out paperwork to book a room, doesn’t want to abide University policy which apply to all regardless of political stripe, and goes crying to the media. Based on their reaction, his colleagues (MPs) are no different.
During my time in Uni, I have seen various political parties book spaces and advertise it across campus, but no, clown wants to setup in open and disrupt the campus.

Insane that an elected MP doesn’t understand that one, we don’t have freedom of speech in Canada, and two, his event being cancelled by a student centre for his failure to submit an appropriate proposal isn’t a violation of freedom of expression.
