      Samsung, the vendor that glued a screen to their fridges to show you ads in your own kitchen, now has added cameras to watch what you eat and feed the info to an AI. What could go wrong?

      Glad to see organizations representing the needs and concerns of everyday people are well organized and producing newsworthy articles that can clap-back at companies developing invasive, harmful, and wasteful products.

      Aside from the software developers on here who always shill about how AI made them 99999x more productive, have any non-tech people here actually found any use for AI in their day-to-day life? I keep trying to use it for a mix of things like troubleshooting problems on my PC or giving me recommendations for things. But it always either gives me wrong, irrelevant or obvious answers.

      Any tech company in the future thats proud of jot shoving „ai“ into every product will have my money. This is so stupid

      Seems like people will get this thinking that they are on the favorable side of the system. Little do they know how the system screws even the loyal supporters of it.

      CES used to be such a fun event to see upcoming advancements in consumer electronics and it was exciting to see new things.

      But now it just feels like the opening scene of a dystopian sci-fi movie shortly before the collapse of civilization after a rebellion from AI household appliances.

      I don’t love that Samsung makes that fridge, but the video from iFixIt says it has no handles. That isn’t true, the handles are on the underside of the fridge doors and top of the freezer doors. This is not a new thing and has been done by Samsung and other manufacturers. Using your voice is not the only way to open/close the fridge.

      The ability to open and close with your voice would actually be useful from the elderly or the disabled.

      Putting a bunch of cameras in a fridge is unnecessary.
