Grok/X should be banned in this country at this point it’s that simple. They aren’t even trying to solve the problem.

I believe it is unsettled law in the USA whether child porn created by AI which isn’t a depiction of an actual scene or photograph would be illegal. Unlike here in Canada where edited photos, drawings, paintings or even highly detailed written descriptions can count as child pornography. The US went very differently with its laws – their Supreme Court has upheld that artistic depictions are not criminalizable speech. You can draw whatever you can imagine in America and publish it and it’s legal. This might or might not include AI generated child abuse depictions. It has yet been untested unless something has come up in the last year I missed. When it eventually goes to court I wouldn’t be surprised if American courts cling to their strange absolutist interpretations of the first amendment unto the complete derangement of their society.

If so, that will be forced down our throats as with all American cultural exports. Like the issue with Japan where it’s possible to legally buy material that in Canada is defined as obscenity or child abuse material. Except the problem will be times a million because it’s America.

At the risk of being a bit free-association with ideas, I feel like there’s a great upheaval going on. The right-wing in America is forming a concept almost like parental chattel slavery where parents have absolute ownership and control over their children. Allegations of systematic child abuse and protecting pedophiles is part of the discourse on both sides in American politics now and it’s deranging them quite effectively. On Reddit most any thread of late about Trump is about America’s pedophile king whilst any thread in the other half’s media universe is about groomers.

Healthy level-headed environment into which to introduce this kind of material.
