Unless the money to secure the arctic comes from America it’s not going to happen. The liberals have talked about it for what 25 years now. Time to fund another round of gun grabs! Maybe in the arctic this time lol.

One can wish when the fat pedophile war criminal finally keels over that it will be the end of this insanity but I think he has so throughly poisoned American society that we will be dealing with the shit from that meth lab of a country for a while.

Canada as a whole is thoroughly sick of the US spouting off every 10 minutes to fill the news cycle with nonsense.

Canada has the potential and truly needs to strengthen its position by collaborating more closely with its EU partners.

    5. We are about to be sandwiched between Alaska, Continental US and Trumplandia….

Well, there is a battle already underway for the Arctic shipping routes, between China, Russia, and the US, with a winner take all outcome for the control of those mainly future shipping routes. If they keep screwing around, WWIII will break out and everyone will not need Arctic shipping routes for awhile.

    7. If the US is not excluding military options, Canada will really have to wonder what is our role in NORAD let alone Nato.

What is our government going to do fight them off with millions of TFWs and IMPs?

Whatever, but don’t ask our young people to fight. People in my generation are thoroughly disgusted by everything this government has done to ruin our lives and our chances.

It won’t be via conventional war.

At some point Trump will declare that all Canadian territory north of a line starting 100 miles inland from the Arctic Ocean will be under the military protection of the United States. Any foreign nation who wishes to pass through must secure American permission. they will also be establishing a presence on the ground to enforce controls.

Canada is still responsible for all the residents, but otherwise the US is providing “security”. Canada will pay for this protection via mineral rights.

      How would we/NATO respond?

    11. Conflict in the Arctic is coming, most of just didn’t think it would be with the US. Russia was always gonna contest access to the Northwest passage.

    12. Canada is a big piñata for the taking. And someone will take it unfortunately. But just wait for winter. 🥶🥶🥶🥶
Even us, here in Quebec , we have tough time during the winter season, I can’t imagine someone not used to it!??

    13. If the US attacks Greenland I truly believe it will also be a way for the U.S. to legitimately wage war against Canada as we would more than likely get involved and therefore be an official enemy/opponent to the United States. From the moment he entered office, Trump has made his intentions with annexing Canada very clear and I fear this would be his opportunity to attack Canada and potentially claim some Canadian land while disguising it as a legitimate war / defence.
