  1. We’re no longer allies. The Pentagon’s last defence paper made it blatantly clear that it seeks to dissolve the EU and implement right-wing regime change within European nations.

America is not turning away from allies , it’s trying to create new allies on new terms .

It’s trying to create a new order with new rules in which all previous relationships are basically annulled , and Europe should wake up from the nostalgia of its relationship with US .

It’s forcefully trying to break relationship with its allies to force them to come at America’s doorstep to discuss new ties set on America’s terms .

Posterity will be harsh on the United States. The US move like a bully. Hope American civil society will react.

All these events might have terrible consequences in the future. Let’s hope not.

As a European, I like American citizens at least the ones who have nothing to do with this government, your culture, your movies, your music. Let’s stay friends YES ?

Macron talks a good game, but when push comes to shove he doesn’t do much. He completely rolled over on the EU trade deal, for example, despite it being a rubbish deal for Europe (and France) for which they got little in return and, honestly, just debased themselves to placate the Americans. This was a prime opportunity for France (and Europe) to take a stand, and they just gave up at the first sign of resistance.

Meanwhile, France has still not committed to any meaningful security guarantees for Ukraine unless the US brokers a ceasefire.

I like his rhetoric but so far it hasn’t been backed up by much in terms of tangible actions.

It’s exactly what Putin wants and has been trying to do for some time.

Considering how quickly the US went from „allies“ to seeing us as a threat and threatening to invade terretories of an EU member, all while Americans doing nothing to stop their self-chosen lunatics, I have my doubts that the US were ever a true ally.

So far the US probably just saw more use to have us one their side, then having us on the different end of the gun. That changed now, and makes it apparent that we seem to have different fundamental beliefs on „rule of law“ vs. „might makes right“…

Sad but true. Irreversible damage. Good point: here’s hoping that Europe finally wakes up.

The USA want officially to destroy Europe. They’re an European enemy.

The US isn’t. Trump and his MAGA cronies are. We have no allies and as an American the end is near for the US and I don’t even care anymore.

Were trying go solve this issue, if the rest of the leaders of the world could stop jerking him off for favors it would be great. Kinda working against us over here

The US is going to find out the hard way that without it’s allies it has little power.
Those military bases that allow you to deploy all over the world? Gone.
Customers for your billion dollar weapon systems? Gone.
Countries willing to buy your debt? Gone.
    Trade relationships? Laughable.
    Intelligence sharing? Nope.

  14. Trump presidency turning away. If we get smart in the coming elections wine can make it right.

Thankfully even if France’s economy is shit they have enough nukes to project the kind of shield that Germany cannot.

Britain however… it’s not sure who they play for.

On one side they back the US… on the other they try to stick to their immediate allies.

At some point they will have to make a choice.

Macron is just a year late in recognizing that, but better late than never.

The US doesnt even understand the possible future consequences of this.

Has. Has turned away from its allies. I’m now sitting at the dictator / strongman table.

They are injecting that American Exceptionalism right into their veins now while the other people at their table are saying „Can you believe it was that easy to destabilize the USA!! HAHAHAHA“.

Its because a senile corrupt arrogant rapist is running the US

hundreds of years of trust and power lost in a fraction of the time

No shit, Sherlock, the current US administration is horrendous. But then, why did you approve their actions on Venezuela again? Knowing very well that chances are the next target is Greenland.

  21. On the turning away
    From the pale and downtrodden
    And the words they say
    Which we won’t understand

    Don’t accept that what’s happening
Is just a case of others suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
    The turning away
