Should’ve put a stop to the shadow fleet years ago, even using deniable mishap tactics.

I remember when this was called piracy, and how we kept on condemning the Iranians for seizing ships they deemed suspicious, and now we are doing the same, copying the US in their recent actions.
I don’t like Russias actions in Ukraine, but this is the completely wrong way to go about it, it completely violates international law, it’s aim to starve other nations of resources is definitely morally questionable even if those other nations are authoritarian not to mention the civilian crews on them being negatively affected, it sets a precedent for other nations to do the same with our ships if we enter a diplomatic spat, it encourages the militarisation of global trade and the possibility of using weapons (possibly even nuclear) on said ships for self defence and it severely decreases trust between the UK and authoritarian nations like China, which can easily lead to less trade and skyrocketing inflation, and will definitely hurt the UK at international standing causing are economy to slump even more than it already is.
If we want to support Ukraine we should give them more weapons and help them attack targets inside Russia and allowing for government funded schemes to get people into the country, ranging from UK citizens to Columbian, Syrian or other mercenaries. We should not be doing this, it is not in our interest and degrades us as a nation.
