    1. > Sources connected to the Reiner family, with direct knowledge, tell TMZ … when attorney Alan Jackson appears in court Wednesday morning for Nick’s arraignment, he will inform the judge he is no longer representing Nick.

      > Our sources say a public defender will step in for now, and the case will be continued. Nick will not enter a plea.

      > As for why Jackson is off the case, we’re told the family will be releasing a statement as soon as the proceedings are over, and TMZ will post it.

My guess is he will eventually plead guilty in exchange for life imprisonment.

Alan realized they had philosophical differences when Nick rocked the jukebox after Alan specifically told him to not do that.

    9. I’m dumb, when I first read this headline I thought “Alan Jackson has really pivoted his career from the old Chatahoochee days”

He can’t win this case on an insanity defense.

      So sad for everyone involved.

Follow the money. Nick Reiner has none. Once Jackson knew that for sure, he bailed.

    12. Seems like a question of money to me. His siblings don’t want to pay for his defense which is reasonable.

    13. I’ve been very curious about Nick’s ability to pay for an attorney and was initially surprised a bigwig was doing it. I don’t think it’s as simple as someone well known like Alan stepping up and thinking he’d get a good payday only to find out otherwise—any person with basic thinking skills would know the nature of this murder means the family may not want to financially support Nick. I think the options are:

      1) Alan was hired by family or friend of family for the initial aftermath to handle initial legal logistics, ensure Nick gets properly incarcerated and help with prelim assessment of the case. Ie, always a temp hire while siblings dealt with the initial shock and assessment of their parents’ finances.

      2) Alan was hired to potentially fully represent Nick from Nick’s portion of the estate but now that the siblings know more about Nick’s state of mind and have the full details re: how their parents set up their estate and learned about the slayer rule, they’ve realized none of the estate was set up to cover Nick’s legal costs in this situation and said f*ck this, we’re not paying for his lawyer.

      3) Alan was hired to fully represent Nick and Nick is not accepting the help and demanded he be fired.

WTH?? “Nick Reiner is NOT guilty of murder“ he says, ‚PRINT THAT‘ and then leaves. Wth did we just watch? Is Jackson jusy twisting it (a master narrative manipulator) because he knows it’s unwinnable and doesn’t want to look like he’s pre-emptively lost? Baffling.

    16. This could have nothing to do with money. I don’t think the lawyer can knowingly offer false evidence to the Court. So if Nick stupidly confessed to the lawyer, that it was intentional and not insanity, like he did it for the money and not because he momentarily thought his parents were demons, the lawyer would have to withdraw to give him the best shot of not being found guilty.

    17. So after his country music career ended, he went into law? That’s cool. It must be stressful because it changed the entire way he looks.

    18. Here’s my crazy theory: They were going to blame this on the doctor(s) who changed Nick’s psych meds. But one of those doctors is related to someone at Jackson’s firm. (He has partners, he’s not a solo practitioner).
