      All these words to say nothing. 
      Realistically Ireland won’t do anything anyway, even if US annexed Greenland. We are too dependant on the US and multinationals.

      It’s scary how much Trump can do without even talking too much to the congress and senate. Goes to show how much the US actually resembles and XVIII century constitutional monarchy. The other presidents were simply taking it easy.

      Trump could have just as easily decided Ireland was strategically important to the USA. He still might. Appeasing him is not the way.

      In response Europe should be taking a financial nuke approach, nationalize key strategic companies such as American pharma and companies of strategic value like Intel.

      “Continue to monitor the situation” that’s pretty much the stand from EU countries when it comes to the stupidity of Trump and US. Why not grow some balls and do something about it 🤦‍♂️

      Oh thank God!! For a second there I was worried they weren’t going to continue to monitor the situation, but at least now we can relax and be proud of our proactive government

      I remember some right winger from the States yelling at me in 2016, saying these drastic scenarios would never happen because there’s checks and balances. „He couldn’t do anything like that“. Wonder what that guy would say now

      But lads this is about as much as the Irish government can do about the situation right now. I don’t know what people expect to happen. The Taoiseach isnt going to come out blasting the President of the United States + that is not how you deal with Trump/Narcisscists.

      He has def crossed a line, about 10years ago tbh where I don’t think we should pander to him either but lets not enrage him either.

      Please god this November Republicans will lose HEAVILY in the mid-term elections. If democrats get a majority I would hope they do the right thing again and impeach him they would have enough numbers this time to get it done. This would be Vance in the White House but I genuinely think that we’re better with that that guy doesnt have a clue and wouldn’t get much done remember he compared Trump to Hitler. Sure he is a weasel who shifted his ideals the moment he thght he had a chance to be VP but deep down hes still a weasel and will likely be less damaging, I would hope, than Trump

      The EU weren’t so concerned about „democratic principles and international law“ when Venezuela was being illegally overthrown a few days ago. Trying to appease lunatics does not work.
