* *Pamela Hemphill addressed Capitol Police officers who were serving during the 2021 attacks at the House January 6 panel, which was reconvened by Democrats to hear from witnesses and lawmakers about the events of that day.*
* The original panel was disbanded in 2023 with recommendations that Trump be prosecuted on four federal charges.
* Upon starting his second term in 2025, Trump pardoned or commuted sentences for 1500 people charged over the attack. Hemphill refused her pardon.

Pamela ‚MAGA Granny‘ Hemphill refused Trump’s blanket Jan. 6 pardon not because she’s trying to be edgy, but because she actually owns that she broke the law and doesn’t want to help rewrite history or insult the Capitol cops who protected her that day. That’s, surprisingly rare.
She’s come out a lot to PDX protests in support against ICE at the facility on Macadam, the chuds down there refer to her as Pamtifa.
No sympathy until I see them doing work to actively fix the bullshit problems she caused. Educating her peers, spreading more awareness and convincing more maga morons to snap out of their dumbass cult would be a start.
Ya know, I do have sympathy for these people. I’ve fallen for a lie before, but that lie didn’t result in the end of my country (or more pointedly, my freedom). I believe most of these assholes are just that, but they’re ALL naive. And naivety is real. Especially with old people. Buy hate is hate, and if you said even one thing about black people or trans women or THE MEXICANS, well that’s not about being naive. You’re just a fucking bigot and you deserve the punishment.

I just appreciate the integrity of refusing the pardon, taking responsibility and holding oneself accountable for their own actions, and realizing they were lied to.

One of the few Jan. 6 defendants to actually look in the mirror instead of doubling down, she rejects Trump’s pardon because it would be feed the narrative that J6 wasn’t violent and that officers were to blame. You don’t hear that every day.
She is trying and is making amends. I can forgive her and appreciate that she is trying to do better and is truly sorry.
I respect her. Everyone can be fooled, and most of us have been to some extent at one point or another — but it’s a much rarer person who can own up to it, let alone respond by constructively changing themselves.
She is awesome and all respect for her. Shows that there really is a non-zero number of people who can and will see the light.
