    1. General Fusion should be part of Canada’s national strategy alongside Cohere and Xanadu imo.

In the future, countries without fusion reactors to power the energy grid will fall behind in AI, advanced manufacturing, and ultimately won’t have the means to make UBI viable.

    2. Think about what we could do if we empowered our world leading engineers and scientists to do amazing stuff like this, instead of being content with them needing to leave to the USA to find work.

Instead the conversation about the national economy is limited to oil pipelines and mines and pretty much nothing else.

IDK much about nuclear but assuming this is cool and assuming it helps put us on the map, we NEED IP protections.

another clueless article written by journalists who have no idea about how fusion work 🥴

    5. They’ve been at it a while, step by step progress. In perhaps a decade or so, the first pilot plant will start up.
With fusion, we can power the world. Rockets can reach most planets in less than a year. Keep going!

This is amazing news and the Government should be doing whatever they can to support this research.

Watch out for American raids on the facility. If a flying object feels American, shoot it down

    8. How long before they’re acquired by an American company? We can’t seem to keep much nailed down around here.

Hey I am gonna admit that I am not a nuclear fusion expert. Shocker I know. But I gotta ask. Is this just another machine that ultimately turns a turbine to generate power or is this a new way to generate electricity. If someone could break this down like I eat with my feet level of stupid, I would really appreciate it.
