Trump sees how weak he is. The GOP will lose their majority in the midterms.
He doesn’t have the authority.
Edit: I understand he dgaf about what he can & can’t do. My hope on this one tho, is that federal elections are handled @ the state level. The elections will happen, IMO. Will he recognize the results? Probably not. We are full scale boned right here

Blue states should start withholding federal tax revenue until we know the federal government isn’t compromised. We contribute drastically more revenue than we consume and it would tank the entire Administration’s agenda . If we can’t have elections it’s tea in the harbor time. No taxation without representation! Let those welfare queen red states see what they are actually worth

Wait a while, then say it again, but worse, and walk it back only part way.
Wait a little longer, then say it a third time, but *so much worse*, then walk it back only to the original terrible thing, which no longer seems anything like as bad, by comparison.
Then do that thing.
An alternative way to minimize the chances of being impeached is to, say, stop doing patently illegal, unconstitutional, and evil things. Or sure, you can go ahead and commit another impeachable and seditious offense by trying to rig yet another election.

The very fact he spoke this aloud should result in his removal, yet here we are with a feckless and complicit congress. The only people that can save us is ourselves through revolution.
This after telling red states to get ready to fight like hell because if the GOP loses the house he will be impeached again.
This also after he „miraculously“ made up with elon and had a nice brunch to discuss the upcoming midterms.
Him talking about means the ghouls behind him are planning it. Can we hold the media complicit yet?
How does the federal government tell, say, California or Alabama that they can’t hold their elections this year? By what mechanism do they accomplish that?
Everyone’s terms still end, how are those seats filled?

Imagine losing an argument so badly you start talking about nuking the scoreboard. Maybe we should just cancel the elections! This is what passes for political strategy now.
If the midterms are canceled the blue states should secede. If there are no elections there is no union.
If you don’t stand for something then you will fall for anything.
I believe it’s high time that America citizens stop feeding into the current regime that’s destroying the world.

There is a dictator in D.C. that is trying to rule with an iron fist.
We need to be more mobile and occupy places that will have an impact on what the current fascist government is trying to achieve.
They don’t care about who will suffer.

The politicians of our country won’t do the exact thing that, we the citizens of the United States, are asking them to do.
Other countries will only defend themselves because our government has shown that the rule of law does not matter.

If this happens I’ll be hitting the street to my nearest capital to possibly do what I can’t say on Reddit. This will be the straw that broke for me.
He keeps talking about cancelling elections, every single person here needs to be asking themselves the following questions.
1. Do you trust the federal government to protect you?
2. Do you believe that this administration is specifically targeting groups of people?
3. Do you trust in the courts ability to protect you with the established laws of the country?
4. Do you believe that federal law enforcement is currently respecting our rights as guaranteed to us by The Constitution?
5. If a federal officer was targeting you and breaking the law, do you think that local or state law enforcement would stop them to protect you?
6. Do you trust the elected representatives of your party to defend you?
7. Do you think anyone else will come to your rescue?
8. Do you believe in equal rights for all people’s and would you fight to defend those rights from an unjust force?
9. Are you in a position to defend yourself if others won’t fight for you?
10. Who benefits more from you being unarmed during these times?
Maybe then people will realize we have to do more than sign waving in designated protest locations.
Fucking traitor. He knows how weak he is. The majority of the country hates him and his policies. If he goes through with stopping the midterms, it is time for mass protests.
Just a reminder to my fellow Americans: in both world wars and civil war we never canceled elections.

Elections have never been canceled not even during ww2. This is the most unconstitutional thing you could do.

Trump can see how disastrous the midterms are going to be for the GOP and him. That is why he panic-talks like that.

He always does this. He „floats the idea“ to gage reactions to see how he can get away with it. Then his supporters say „He was joking“ „He did not mean it“ and he gets the idea in people’s head. If you are a Trump supporter you should not be chearing for this.
If this was a democrat saying this there would be so much outrage.
There’s an amendment just for that situation. Don’t make us use it.
Does he want riots in the streets? That is what that would lead to.
All workers should strike and flood the streets until changes are made in DC. A small price to pay to save our children’s future.
