    1. Right after they reimburse us for the corporate welfare that they have received over the years.

What ever happened to they can invest in Venezuela and earn their profits back themselves?

    3. SixIsNotANumber on

This was *always* going to land on the taxpayers.

Too bad nobody is willing to stop him.

How do the poors of America deal with all of this winning? You’re paying higher taxes in the form of tariffs on products you buy and now you’re going to give oil companies money to rape Venezuela of her resources.

Then they Venezuelan people can rip the benefits, while American can’t afford food or rent. Same old story, nobody gets shit, the only ones who benefits are the corporations and the orange Pedo

    6. Letxs get real.  The oil companies are not going to touch that shit show without guarantees.  The tax payer will pay those guarantees.

Suggestion or not, it is going to happen

Zero chance any US corporation moves into Venezuela any time soon. They need stability, reliable courts, solid infrastructure… they are NOT going to start building refineries if they don’t have pipelines and roads and ports. And actually they just showed off some solid state battery powered motorcycles at CES 2026 yesterday. With solid state batteries just on the horizon the case for investing billions in oil makes zero sense. Oil costs more than solar and more than wind. It is not the future. Oil companies are using profits for share buy-back’s so their investors can exit. They are absolutely NOT investing in more production.

Hahahahahahaha MAGA, I’ve relegated myself to a dark and depressing future, but you guys all had hope despite the rest of the world’s warnings.

I take pleasure in seeing your hope and happiness destroyed by this fucking asshole and the rest of the GOP.

If you can’t be responsible with our tax money, then you shouldn’t be entrusted with it.

After the tariffs money right? We’re going to be paid for that too. Boy, with all this imaginary money floating around I’m practically a millionaire!

Member that 2k „tax refund“ everyone was gonna get? Well that was a lie and now that money is going to poor little Exxon.

    12. Ok-Telephone7490 on

Fuck that, the oil companies can pay back US taxpayers for all of the welfare they have received over the last 50+ years. That sounds much better.

The U.S. has been subsidizing fossil fuel production for more than a century. Many of the tax subsidies — including a tax break passed in 1913 that allows companies to write off large amounts of expenses related to drilling new oil wells — have been on the books for decades.

Biden first executive orders tasked agencies with getting rid of those subsidies. “I don’t think the federal government should give handouts to Big Oil,” he said.

Well now Trump is in power and after asking for $1 Billion from the oil companies to get elected he is granting their every wish.

The Trump administration has already added nearly $40 billion in new federal subsidies for oil, gas, and coal in 2025, on top of an additional $4 billion out the door each year for fossil fuels over the next decade, in the form of allocations contained in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

    14. Even if the oil companies would do it, which they won’t, immediately, Exxon alone made 33.7B USD last year, and returned 36B to shareholders via dividends and stock buybacks. So they made a negative investment from their profits in their own business. No way should the US Government be giving them a dime.

Maga trash voters are too stupid to even know they’ve been manipulated and scammed.

    16. DanfromCalgary on

More Importantly. Tax payers can pay for companies to own and than pay to use the oil when they need it

    17. dragonrider1965 on

I’m laughing at Trump supporters who actually believed he would bring down prices for them .

    18. drstelly2870 on

So let me get this straight …he has started a whole war FOR THEM and they are worried about who is GOING to reimburse THEM for getting Venezuela’s oil rigs back in shape so THEY CAN MAKE more money?? And Trump is promising them that if they invest and do this WE will reimburse them???? America: THIS is why America is failing and its infrastructure is crumbling. These Oil companies and manufacturing companies have been our parasitical welfare queens well before Elon Musk was…..he learned it from them…We have made these cos. rich and their families generationally wealthy and yet they have NEVER put back into the US or invested in the US’s growth (only polluted our waters and our skies and then paid politicians to look the other way)! Please continue to pay attention. NONE of this BENEFITS the American taxpayer but we are less safe because of all of this!

    19. They already get money in subsidies and still have record profits. Fuck giving them more money.

    20. reddit_understoodit on

Trump can stop suggesting this because it is crazy. Maybe ask Putin for a loan.

    21. DeliciousNicole on

I already heard braindeads claim: „Gas prices are going to go down!“

The narrow and limited end of the nose thinking. They will see a minor drop for a short period of time, but that oil will sell internationally and like a frog being boiled alive, it will slowly rise again due to *checks notes*: „We’re make up some BS!“ from the oil companies.

    22. This is why you invest in „Clean Energy“. It is not the just carbon footprint, it is about place utility. The oil is in places where it requires a very expensive military to protect the supply lines. Those costs are already a subsidy to the big oil companies. If Exxon had to buy aircraft carriers, train people, and pay them to risk their lives to get oil to the market, the costs would cause a rethink on the cost of a windmill or damn or solar.

    23. UserWithno-Name on

No. I don’t want to subsidize industries that should be dead and are plenty wealthy as is.
