One day i was out feeding birds off my front deck and this woman comes by with 2 kids, (this was during Covid lockdowns). Shes says „Look, bluejays!!“
I said, „No they are Stellar’s Jay’s, some people dont like them, but if you give them peanuts they’ll come to your house too!“
She says „Hear that guys?!?!“, and they went on their way.
My neighbor across the street comes running over and says „DONT YOU KNOW WHO THAT WAS!?!?!“
I’m like, „No, who?!?“

There was this girl I knew in middle school. Brilliant, pretty, damned near an straight-A student.
Then she falls from a stage, during a Student Government event. Hits her head. Going into 9th Grade, she backslides, starts failing and hanging out with the bullies and fuckups.
Another girl took a field hockey ball to the head in my sophomore year in high school, has a similar backslide, sans the whole „hanging out with bullies and fuckups“ thing.
Protect your goddamned heads.

Joining the disabled community is something any of us could do at any time. My wife suffered a stroke over 2 yrs ago out of the blue, and our lives were turned upside-down.
I hope it makes her a nicer person

I had a bad concussion and now have a mild TBI. Concussions are serious and can be live changing.
My wife fell down a hospital garage flight of concrete steps at 8 months pregnant. After putting her back together, constant nerve pain , short term memory gone , left arm stuck in one position and the plate on her neck after they replaced 3 vertebrae, ….,,,I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s been over 28 years now and I stop her everyday from finishing the job. It’s going to be a long road.
I feel for her, I had a similar experience at 25. Lost consciousness randomly and face planted into concrete.
I’m generally ok but some part of me has never felt the same and there’s little things I regularly forget.
