      I am sure the people who supported ending the war in Ukraine at all cost to bring peace will be very against attacking another nation for their oil….. right?

      Edit: I’m Brazilian, guys, not American. I also don’t know how Trump is getting away with so many shit, why this man is not facing an impeachment?!       And the population of Venezuela won’t see a dime, they’ll continue to languish in poverty as US corporations suck out the #1 largest known oil reserves in the world from right under their feet.

      I’m sure there will be no sanctions against the US, certainly not from the EU where I’m from, spineless cowards. We need to work against the literal evil empire of our time.

      Conservatives are already saying that „this isnt a war, its a decisive victory“ in defense of trump. They are already saying that „boots in the ground“ doesnt count since they overthrew a tyrant in a matter of hours.

      Meanwhile, we likely just made this a third world country over the next decade while US troops patrol the streets and are forced to accept insults and possibly return fire in a place they aren’t wanted. Again. Just like fucking Afghanistan…

      I’d like to remind everyone that Trump recently pardoned the convicted former president of Honduras. Orlando Hernández was convicted of drug trafficking.

      So it’s curious that we pardon a drug kingpin and then immediately snatch another one from the same part of the world.

      Oh, and completely unrelated. 🙄, Venezuela has a lot of oil, Honduras doesn’t.

      So, for those defending this action due to the fact that he was a “narco-terrorist,” would it be okay for another country to find our president guilty of a crime and then come and scoop him up in the dead of night with special forces and whisk him away?

      Umm – Venezuelan government is still intact and not happy with Trump. How did this get him any closer to getting oil? 

      It’s going to to take an Iraq war style invasion – that we get to pay for in dollars and lives so a few oligarchs get to steal Venezuelan oil.

      Is it too soon to start discussing Trump’s plans for occupation? He’s effectively annexed Venezuela. The “Pottery Barn” rule is in effect.

      Many of us saw the US military take down the third largest military in the world on their home turf in about a month. Bush promised that it would be fast and (relatively) inexpensive, and it was. What followed was not.

      Now that Trump has decapitated Venezuela, what is next?

      Congress ought to be impeaching his ass ASAP, but we all know the Republicans in charge will just roll over. Will they authorize an occupation force, or will the billionaires just cover it with petty cash? If it’s privately funded, what will the command chain look like? Is Trump about to give away our military to the billionaires? Will Putin be one of them?

      So many questions… no good answers.
