The Conservatives get indignant when they are compared to MAGA, but here they are again in lockstep with Trump.
Well if you had any doubt about PP aligning himself with the foreign policy of the US government under Trump, let it all be laid bare.
PP congratulating Trump on renditioning a foreign head of state in the pretext that US domestic law applies is certainly a strange choice.
Just when you think Pierre couldn’t sink lower. Shamelessly repeating Trump’s big lie about narco terrorism. Can’t wait until he’s relegated to the dustbin of Canadian political history.
This is appalling. Of course Pierre licks boots and hopes he’s installed when they come for Canada. What a horrible little man with no consideration of the rule of law.
So pp’s supporting what is pretty much a war crime. He does realize that if Trump can do it there, Trump can do it here?

As I posted a couple of days ago, Trump said he would use economic coercion to annex Canada and this is another step in that direction.
Our two primary exports are oil and automobiles, the US has stated they plan to destory our automobile manufacturing sector but they still need our oil…specifically our heavy oil their refineries are set up to handle. Venezuelan oil is a similar heavy oil that could offset, and eventually replace, our own oil. More pipeline capacity away from the US and to our coasts is a critical national security concern.
They also need our potash and recently lifted sanctions on Belarus to allow their potash into the US. That can’t replace Canadian potash, but you can bet they will strike a deal with Russia for their potash at some point.
They have chosen to let their own industries suffer needlessly in order to keep steel, aluminum and softwood tariffs in place to destroy our industries.
We need to be smart, quick and strategic.
Pierre really should’ve asked somebody else what their thoughts were before sending that out

As someone else mentioned I think Poilievre is positioning himself to be the puppet ruler of Canada if Trump annexes us and I think he has doing it for some time. It’s hard to imagine otherwise why during the last federal election he went out of his way to avoid saying overly negative about Trump despite the fact that a condemnation of him might have gotten him a few more votes.
I hope the world condemns the American actions in Venezuela, if it doesn’t then Venezuela might be the Rhineland that spurs Trump on to take Canada, Panama and Greenland. Domestically I think we will see a Liberal majority government before months end.

I just read the official statement from the government released by Anand and it was balanced and appropriate. Called for the international law as well as the democratic wishes of Venezuelans to be respected.

Maduro’s a right villain, I’m glad he’s in custody, and I’m going to choose to be optimistic and believe there’s an outcome at the end of this path where life improves for the Venezuelan people (Lord knows they’ve been through a lot).
However, I would be very hesitant to declare this a triumph so quickly after its begun, given the absolute fucking chaos monkeys Trump, Rubio, and Hegseth are. This game may not be long and hopefully it has a good outcome, but what happened this morning is nowhere near close to victory or any kind of resolution. It feels like grandstanding after your team gets the first First Down of your team’s opening drive.
I think Poilievre has thrown in the towel on becoming prime minister. Because I can’t think of a worse response to these U.S. actions than what he and Lantsman said.
You might personally think it’s good to remove a dictator, but don’t they consider how this position wins them any brownie points with voters? Because I don’t see any way that it does.

Any elected Canadian celebrating an act of war against a nation that did nothing to provoke it, in the midst of the US threatening us as well, should immediately be removed from office.
Again, we see Pierre Poilievre echoing trumps talking points and becoming the most pro Trump politician in Canada.
He understands that many republicans have also referred to Canada as “socialist” right? Probably not.
So the range of responses goes from full-throated support for the breaking of international law and violations of sovereignty to tepid statements of disapproval.
A blatant reminder international law means sweet fuck all when it’s our side doing it.
Poilievre congratulating Trump on X and not saying anything about this US unilateral attack that flies in the face of international laws.
Do Canadians really needed yet another example that Poilievre does NOT have the skills to lead our country?
