Norge behöver bara gå med i EU så är vi i samma union.

it would save the finnish economy

I’d love for it to happen! A common currency, all salaries aligned with Norway, speaking Swedish, as prepared as Finland and with an Icelandic integrity.
Denmark can join too if we really have to.

Kommer inte hända, men det hade nog gynnat oss alla att vara enade.

Yea why not.
Problem is, there is a lot of difference in, for example, the social systems we all use. The Danish and Swedish unions are wildly different, and just there it would be a huge conflict of interest. Nevermind that Norway would hate the idea purely out of an economic standpoint, same reason they haven’t joined the EU (yet).
The best way would be to do like the US and have each country be a state with self governance, then have a „federal“ government elected from every corner of it, making the major decisions. As much as we like to think we’re alike, there are huge differences.

Wishful thinking. Won’t happen unless they get into a war with an external aggressor. In peace time each wants to keep their own sovereign integrity and politics both domestic and foreign.

The countries don’t want a common currency, the tax and social security systems are completely different, and all the countries have a strong sense of national identity and probably aren’t keen on giving up sovereignty to a common central government.
So if we keep the separate currencies, separate social systems, separate governments, then what you have left is pretty much just the same thing we have today already

I think it would be beneficial in the long-term, and it would give us more influence and make us a genuine power-player within both the EU and NATO. That said, I don’t think it will happen. The countries are too used to being independent off of one another, and no one, neither politicians nor the people, are calling for it to happen.

Estonia should also be included in this union. They are the best EU country when it comes to Fintech and running businesses online so far. They also have the same cultural heritage as Finland which alone is reason enough to include them.

They’re practically already in a union, that’s even stronger, because it’s this + another couple dozen countries.

There was a plan to do this (or something like it, rather) in the 70s or 80s I think. It was supposed to be a somewhat loose union, akin to the UK, though I don’t think Iceland was involved, and I’m unsure of Denmark.
My grandfather was among the people pushing for it from the Swedish side. Apparently it was just about to happen, after extensive negotiations, but some part withdrew in the last second, and everything fell through after that.
I don’t remember all the details; everything I know about it I’ve heard from my grandfather, and he isn’t the most talkative person.
Edit: [Nordek](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordek) it was called. It seems it was more of an economic union than a political one. Russian pressure apparently made Finland withdraw only days before the signing. There were plans to continue without Finland, but it never happened, alas.

It will never happen but I would be for it. Leave eu and just have a nordic union instead.

I would support a federation where each state has a large amount of autonomy. We would have the same foreign policy, military and currency, but everything else is up to each member to decide for themselves.

I can’t see that happening as my mother reject norwegian people for some reason.
And mother is the boss. Sorry guys.
Me on the other hand? Would welcome it.

God yes. The major powers of europe never allowed us to consolidate, now we have the ability and we should. Ideally we also join with the baltic countries.
Federalized union to start, we build a common defence, foreign policy, labor laws and tax law. Federal budget for central functions, top it off with some crossunion infrastructure and federalized police and we’re good to go.

As long as Finland had to submit to Swedish to not make the union speak globalistic English. Preserving our heritage would be crucial.
