So we want to be in something that the people who are in already, don’t want to be in.
Odd that the 3 biggest political parties aren’t interested in ‚rejoin the EU‘ and one is outright hostile to the EU.
So who wants to swap?
I find these questions misleading.
British want to be part of the EU, but the EU of the 70s – they want a trade block and that’s it, when we start talking about a political union with common currency, the Schengen zone, harmonization of laws, Fiscal Union, Banking Union etc. they start being obstructionist and want out.
I always find these polls so pointless. Unless it’s an active political topic, people tend to give random answers based on vibes. In UK, politics are not good -> maybe we should rejoin. In France, politics are not good -> maybe we should leave

The YouGov poll hasn’t been linked in this article, so not sure if it takes into consideration the question of giving up GBP to adopt Euro, no rebates (so potentially paying more than Germany into the EU budget) and years of austerity in order to qualify for EU’s debt-to-GDP criteria….
They can’t just rejoin instantly, it’s a long process. Just look at Bosnia, they applied to join the EU like 10 years ago.
The strongest voting pool for brexit was the 65+ group and this is now 10 years later.
I still blame Russian propaganda on the leave and would gladly welcome the Brits back to the EU, no punishment needed or anything, I’d also be fine with them not adopting euro, whatever. Just let them get back.
