Trump has single-handedly united emerging economies against the US from the Sahel alliance (Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso) retaliating with visa bans on Americans, to pushing BRICS like India, China, and Brazil closer together in defiance. Bravo!
The right-wing extremists in the USA have pulled off the diplomatic ‚miracle‘ of decades.

I wonder if this will affect US investments/interests in mining projects in Burkina Faso.
I would say this could affect USAID to the country, but Trump already ~~scrapped~~ severely cut that, so meh, I guess?

Honestly every country should be doing this until it’s clear America is no longer illegally detaining people at and within its borders. Would welcome the outside pressure.
I know many countries like Canada, the UK, Germany, Denmark, and others have already issued travel warnings because of the blossoming fascism, but it would be nice to see a more firm collective rebuke.
Edit: I see some hurt feelings reflected in downvotes. Ask the tourists from allied countries who get illegally carted off to for-profit detention centers for months how they feel about it I guess. 🤷
I’ve always wanted to go to these places. I’ve heard they are tourist havens with friendly people, amazing restaurants, tall buildings, and great attractions! Absolutely no militants who will kidnap and/or kill Westerners! /s

More American doctors go to these countries to volunteer than any American goes for tourism. The only reason I know these are countries is because I wanted to memorize the entire globe to impress my friends.

Isn’t Burkina Faso the country where every time they lose a village to Al Qaeda the dictator announces some nonsense like opening a tomato paste factory or outlawing homosexuality?
And isn’t Mali the country that lost its entire northern territory, the size of Texas, to Al Qaeda/ISIS/the Tuaregs a few years back?
I’m okay with not having Americans travel there.
