      I don’t necessarily want a BYD. What I do want is a cheap and „good enough“ electric car. BYD seems to be the leader in that category. I’d buy a BYD Seagull today if I had that option.

      I actually saw a BYD truck on the highway of Houston suburbs a couple weeks ago. First thing I thought about was how much it cost the owner to import the thing. It was nice looking.

      BYD have absolutely taken over the market in Australia. They’re everywhere. Given the value and quality at the price, it’s not surprising.

      The Chinese automotive takeover is going to be swift and comprehensive.

      When I visit family in Europe and see those BYDs all over, those things are super nice looking

      I would never buy a Chinese EV until they give up their ambition of invading the country of Taiwan, stop abusing other countries in the South China Sea, stop mistreating the Uyghur, dismantle the CCP and release Gui Minhao.

      Human rights lovers on reddit, as usual, now ignore the rampant abuse employees face in BYD (and more generally, in China). Putting human rights aside, they’re also cheering for deindustrialization of their own countries and loss of jobs and the following unemployment and job loss and societal collapse problems, which also make their own countries defenseless militarily (Germany lol). Peak reddit moment really.

      I recently heard you can drive to Mexico and buy one then drive into the US. No sanctions or penalties. Then you can register it and drive it.

      Good. I actually trust Red China more than Elon. China is an enemy state w selfish but predictable intentions. Elon is a sociopathic drugged up boy douche with multiple citizenships. Tie goes to China.
