I wouldn’t call this a conspiracy so much as a marketing campaign. I agree that it is a bit weird and excessive, but everything about Dubai is weird and excessive. You are right that it’s an obvious ploy to make people associate Dubai with luxury and for people to develop a positive mental image of the place.
It didn’t work on me. That city is like the Tower of Babel. It’s disgusting. It’s not even a real city. It’s just a playground for the super-rich with nothing for the average citizen. It lacks some of the most basic utilities, like a proper sewage system. The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building on Earth, has to get the poo sucked out of it by 100 poo trucks every day. The whole city is an exercise in vanity and hubris. It should not exist. It should never have been built.
It’s just a repackaging of the „Disney made frozen to hide results for walts frozen head“ meme. Even the urban dictionary definitions of Dubai chocolate are from after the food trend.
Also Dubai doesn’t use slavery they just mistreat their foreign workers, right now our foreign workers are running from ICE and being paid the same kinda wages legal workers in Dubai get paid but it’s unofficial so it’s the immigrant workers faults and not our governments fault.
As for the sudan stuff, please look into who Sudan claimed was funding the rebels in the 2000s and who the UAE decided to give thousands of citizenships to after the abraham accords (despite the UAE never before allowing new citizenship applications). Sudan always flares up when that specific nation starts getting called out for genocide, I wonder why?
Nothing coming out of Dubai is good or real. This is an ass-backwards culture that simply hit the jackpot by sitting atop a significant portion of the world’s oil reserves. Everything is a state project funded by oil money in a desperate attempt to make the city into something more than it’s culture is capable of being organically.
