I do feel bad for many of the soldiers. We know some are literal criminals without an ounce of remorse but there are probably plenty who also don’t want to be there at all.

It just makes me sad that this war has to enter it’s 4th year. Putin can end this and any moment, but his evil mind can’t understand peace.

  3. Why is one soldier surrendering a worldnews? I mean yes, obviously, propaganda, but come on.

  4. Question: aren’t those very soldiers volunteers or mercenaries bound to contracts? Basically paid to kill then have a sudden change of heart?

I hate what Putin and his cronies have done. I have resentment to the Russian people for refusing to do anything to stop this. But my heart breaks for the conscripts who are forced into this as well. If people haven’t seen the footage, I don’t know what to say. Its horrifying. Its terrible and anyone would with any amount of empathy should be able to see how fucked this is for both sides. Far more for Ukraine, far, far more. But there are plenty of young men forced to the lines under threat of literal execution into the hellacape that is that Frontline. Fuck Putin and every other despot who allows this to happen.

This is why I want the war to end. There are men on both sides who want to live. To have a chance at life. And not to be wasted for such a stupid war.

Ukraine. Russia. What is the difference? Both East European Slavic countries. Whether parts of Eastern Ukraine are part of Russia or part of Ukraine, what is functionally the difference for every day people in those regions? Barely any difference. They’re dying for nothing.
