    1. So the bad people were already punished, now the good ones get punished too.

How very nazi of you, president bitch tits.

    2. So how much of this is because Trump just doesn’t like the governor? I mean that’s usually the primary motivation.

    3. aflyingsquanch on

Its almost as if the entire thing from start to finish is just to punish a blue state whose governor ran against him last year.

      Almost.

    4. Prestigious-Car-4877 on

Ah cool. So, you uncover fraud and charge the people involved in the fraud but it’s all the governor’s fault and the state doesn’t deserve whatever kind of transfer payments from the federal government they deserve because there was fraud that was already addressed by the state.

Yup. That makes a whole ton of sense, Trump. Good work on this whole thing. Walz was definitely the ringleader on this, not the people who committed the fraud. Sure. Right. Uh huh.

This will expand to all 50 states in an attempt to force women out of the workforce.

    6. It is all political theater to neutralize and besmirch and punish potential rivals while riling up their base. It is neither new, sophisticated, or done with the intent to the benefit of anyone but themselves, and boy oh boy are a bunch of of xenophobic racists stupid.

Trump always always always takes hostages, doesn’t he?

Surely there are alternatives to simply ending so many innocent parents‘ access to child care and still making sure fraudulent child care centers don’t continue to operate. But I doubt Trump bothered to find out about them in his zeal to punish.

Should we just abort the babies and throw them in Lake Michigan instead?

    9. Ah yes, another fake scandal for Republicans to go on about and distract from real issues going into an election year…

    10. Well, then Minnesota should just withhold an equal or greater amount of federal taxes and fund the program themselves. Easy.

    11. so it sounds like the justice system has generally been working with the guilty going to prison, and right wing influencers latched on because of the racial angle and now the federal government, instead of doing its own investigation, is just responding to said influencers?

The so-called “independent reporter” at the center of this appears to have been influenced by GOP state officials. This looks less like independent journalism and more like a coordinated media influence campaign involving Trump and state GOP leaders. While fraud does exist, it’s likely that the facilities he visited were already on the radar of state officials. Many of those locations were known for other regulatory or compliance violations, not necessarily fraud alone.

    13. >The federal government collected about $119 billion in tax revenue from Minnesota residents and businesses in 2023. The state, in return, received about $75 billion to support health care, nutrition, Social Security and other programs, according to USAFacts, a not-for-profit organization that analyzes government data.

Even more cash from our state will be handed to failing red states, in this case, at the hands of children getting childcare.

    14. What a piece of shit. Always absolute transactional crap with this turd of a president. It’s on an epic scale of “he doesn’t give a rats ass if kids die, if people are raped, tortured or skewered” – just think about it, he let over a million people die during COVID to feed his ego and twisted reality like nothing was wrong. It took the following President to admit the epic fail and clean shit up.

It stunning to think he even made it back into the House. What a brain fuck this shithead had been.

    15. Republicans be shutting down programs that help people out whenever they find a flaw. Imagine if they used the same logic for defunding the police or military.

    16. Waiting to see people miss the point. While fraud so be investigated, this is 100% targeted and a distraction given how much fraud his PPP crap lead to.

I’m more surprised they aren’t going after Cali. The right have a raging hard on for hating us, so I’m impressed not much has come of it currently.

Every time I turn around he’s freezing funds for Americans while sending billions overseas..

The video is really scant on facts. So is the investigation. It looks like a political fabrication on every level. Not one single person or buisness. And it was supposedly uncovered by a rising star gop influencer. This has scam written all over it.

The fraud that was discovered in 2019 and they’re now using as a racist dog whistle? Cool

    20. Trump gets mad at Minnesota for Addressing Fraud Issues!

MAGA Translator: Minnesota says Trump has fat ankles.

    21. JedLeonard1 on

I guess fraud schemes are only allowed if you’re the President. The pedopotamus is turning more and more into a stupid version of Hitler.

    22. guess they should freeze Medicare in FL because of the Rick Scott/HCA fraud in FL.

    23. „There have been years of investigations that began with a $300 million pandemic food fraud scheme at the nonprofit Feeding Our Future, for which 57 defendants in Minnesota have been convicted. Prosecutors said the organization was at the center of the country’s largest COVID-19-related fraud scam, when defendants exploited a state-run, federally funded program meant to provide food for children.“

Some notes on this specific case.
The leader being a white middle aged woman. Whom herself took home 1.9 millions out of the 250 million they stole. The entire case was stopped by FBI in 2022, during Biden’s term. The MAGA government only know about it because the court cases are still on-going. The organization was started in 2016, and the height of its scam was during 2020, during Trump’s last year during his first term.

It’s almost as if scams are more ignored by FBI whenever Trump is in charge. *Sarcastic* Odd isn’t it.

    24. But, doesn’t this administration grant pardons to people who defraud the government? They have done it for others.

    25. prodigalpariah on

So the „logic“ here is: They believe they’ve found people committing fraud and embezzling funds earmarked for children, thus causing those children to not receive those benefits. So their solution is to deny these benefits to all children instead.

    26. Isn’t this all over fraud that was mostly discovered, investigated and tried back in 2022 and the right wing is just now learning about it?

Tonky understanding there is a bit more of it but I’m not sure how much of that is true.
