Translation: We’ve broken the health care system, now we’ll continue to watch a bunch of people die in the system so we can convince Albertans that private for-profit health care is the only way.
So Alberta’s health care system is now broken up into a bunch of individual agencies, while still keeping AHS around. They necessarily will have their own bureaucracies, and will now have the additional barrier of inter-organization communication. And to throw in some additional complication, they’re expanding private service delivery.
I seriously doubt that this is going to make the system more efficient, but I will also be keeping an eye on relevant stocks. It seems like a sure bet for investors and rent-seeking insurers.
