      They really seem to be closing a lot of streams, guessing its cause it was unmanageable and therefore full of fraud.

      We had the best system in the world until naive „good intentions“ named Trudeau fucked it all up so a few business people could get rich.

      Leaving employers with an opportunity to hire actual Canadians and giving options for youth to look for work in the trades. Or how about, finally reigning in Canadian businesses from exploiting cheap foreign labour domestically.

      Nevermind the refugees who are trying to go through the correct channels only to be undercut by bad actors on both sides of the equation

      Our productivity is poor partly because companies can reduce investment and just add warm bodies at low cost. Meaning production per worker remains low.

      The details:

      “The government has said it would admit 2,000 skilled refugees and their families under the pilot program. From 2019 to the end of March, 2025, 970 people had been admitted to Canada as a result”

      It sounds like this was a very niche program and wasn’t getting much results anyways. So this isn’t really much of a big deal either way.

      Canada (ie. the people in charge) have been incredibly naive. Our goodwill has been abused for YEARS by people from MANY, MANY countries. The damage will take decades to recover from. At least we seem to be starting somewhere.
