Why are you showing only Macron’s presidency period on the graph? Just because he’s the last? Either show them all, or none at all.

    2. So when i look at a dot, its X is the start of the prime ministership and its Y is how long it will last ? Slightly confused me.

It wouldn’t be crowding the graph that much to put the other presidencies (could alternate between 2 shades of blue) and I think it could add clarity.

Also I think some key events like parliament elections and dissolutions are absolutely necessary for such topic.

Edit: you’re now missing the last 2. Which are the same guy.

    3. It makes sense to exclude the current one (Lecornu) because we don’t know how long he will last.

But I would have include the one previous to him (also Lecornu!) as he was first minister from nomination to resignation… And lasted one day.

In between this and the online dating sankeys, might be time to shut the sub down.

I feel the line doesn’t quite work as it implies a relationship between the datapoints. A horizontal bar chart would probably work better. Left to right as that’s a more intuitive read of time/duration. You can then also group or colour code bars based on presidency.
