In service of the ritual of wealth accumulation and money realizing itself as capital?

The logic of extractive capitalism is to make Human beings into commodities again; permanently.
The middling and ambitious mediocrities among us hourly think they’ll be a „good slave master“; there are none, period.
It’s an unfortunate reality. We can and should use our power as a nation to promote human rights and a better world order, but our power to do so is severely compromised right now by our new economic and diplomatic situation. We need to get that stable before we can use it as a platform again effectively.
People only take your country seriously if you can back it up with hard power. So if we want to promote human rights, we need to get back to a place where our military is a credible institution, our alliances are strong, and our economy can afford all of the above
On Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, safety and economic well-being are critical foundations, while morality, esteem, and self-actualization are the „nice to have“ things you get only once your base foundation is secure.
Currently Canada is not secure. We need to get back to basics before we can pursue those nice to have things.
