SS: Israel became the first country to recognize Somaliland as an independent state. And now, Taiwan welcomed the move, calling Israel, Somaliland, and Taiwan like-minded democratic partners that share values of democracy, freedom, and rule of law.
Israel has friendly but mostly informal ties with Taiwan, while Taiwan and Somaliland have maintained official relations since 2020, including representative offices in each other’s capitals.
