As I was scanning down the list of names something within me was hoping that one of them would be ‚Jeff‘ or ‚Gavin‘

Mehmet & Muhammad is essentially the same name.

there’s 0 chance “Hany” is the most popular name in Saudi Arabia. There’s at least 50 names more popular than Hany.

Wouldn’t be a mapporn post without a highly questionable colour scheme. Fatima is green because of the association with Mohammed, but Mehmet isn’t? Andreas is brown despite sharing nothing with Fahd/Fahad, which in turn are coloured so similarly that they are too hard to distinguish.

Turkey is wrong, Mehmet is Turkified Muhammed.

The categorisation on this map is lazy. Fahd and Fahad are the same name, simply with different transliterations from Arabic script. Mohammad, Mohamed, Muhammad, etc, are all transliterations of the name of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

I feel like the map shouldn’t include Mohammed just because those names are never out of popularity but literally just culturally/religiously pressured.
Almost every “Mohammed” I know doesn’t even go by that name, but usually their other given/middle name, or a nickname like “Hamad/Hamoodi” or “Mo/Moey” (westernised).
