The only qualified person to lead the fire department is, of course, The Ketamine Duce himself.
His department didn’t last a year, such was his mismanagement. It was even closed 8 months ahead of schedule. Textbook example of incompetence.

God, remember when musk was done sabotaging our government and stealing the data of every American, when his self preservation instinct overrode his ego and he shut the fuck up for a few weeks and we stopped hearing about him. That was nice.
Former firefighter: Nationally speaking, 80% of calls into the fire department are of EMS in nature, and most of those are health related, and not the sorta trauma you see watching Chicago Fire. Mamdani says that FDNY is 75%, so take that for what you will.
Hiring a commissioner from the EMS side is brilliant in that it does represent a huge swath of the calls coming into the department, so it’s largely what the department spends most of its time on.
She needs to go find a well respected BC on the fire side, and functionally weld them to her. Not because she needs it. Not because the city does.
It shouldn’t be needed, but frankly The fire department needs it to save itself from a ton of strife.
